Average Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Mon, 5 Dec 2011

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Eagan, MN(took a day)
The interview process began online with a couple different tests; a personality test and am intelligence test. They also incorporated a short reading/comprehension/writing test. I then had a phone interview about a week or so later. The woman doing the interview was pleasent, but it seemed as though she didn't have any real influence in the hiring process. The interview was fairly basic, there were questions about job history, education, and of course "why do you want to work for us?" I was then told that they would contact me after sending my information to the necessary manager. I was contacted about two weeks later by e-mail informing me that they had chosen another candidate.

Average Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Thu, 5 Jan 2012

Interviewed Dec 2011(took a day)
The interview was set up by the recruiter and started with a phone interview to verify information and ask a few basic questions. Formal interview took place 1 week later and included 4 assessments/exercises to complete prior to the interview as well as 2 forms which from a legal perspective are not allowed in Canada. One of the forms asked for your date of birth which cannot be asked prior to the offer of employment. Interview was standard HR type of interview. Nothing difficult to answer but was very put off by the filling of the forms. Was tempted to not fill them out and see what the response would be. Also, prior to the formal interview, was taken into the middle of their call centre and asked to do 2 timed exercises. Overall not impressed with the organization or the process followed.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Ontario, CA(took a day)
Got a call from the HR and scheduled for the initial interview. As arriving 10 mins early, was greated by the front desk lady, the waiting area was clean and neat. 20 mins later, the HR rep came out and lead me into the first floor which is the call center, and then second floor the sales flloor. She asked me to take two timed tests and said if you pass the test you will be contiued to the interview phase. Which later I passed the screening and moved into a little interview room and discussing the nature of the job, company, the timed calls, the restrictions with call center. A week after was sent a letter stating not hired due to the "Unrelated major to the position which applied" It is right, I have a BA in Psychology...

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Buford, GA(took 2 days)
I submitted an application online and was called approximately 30 minutes later. After introduction from HR, I was sent an email including 2 personality tests and a writing sample for me to complete. Each test is simple, and the phone interview was a very brief explanation of the position. Common questions including why I wanted position, why I was qualified, etc. Overall, it was a painless and simple interview.

The process took a VERY long time. They make you go through many interview but its because they know who they want. It was an awesome internship and was worth the process. The employees are a lot of fun in HQ but the owners are a little quirky.

Interviewed Nov 2011(took a day)
Went into interview after taking online IQ test and personality tests. Once there they sit you in a room and give you another test of number sequencing. After the test there was some basic HR questions that didn't really seem to get any info of who, what and why I was there. The review process is your test performance and your resume after that you would meet with the hiring manager and that's where they would get to know who you are. Good luck!

Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Thu, 12 Apr 2012

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Kenosha, WI(took a day)
After I received a call from Uline asking for an interview, I was emailed 3 tests to read, complete, and email back at least 2 days before interview. They were very time consuming (personality test, sales test, Uline writing style test). Then during my interview I was required to take 2 timed tests (number sequencing and matching of number sets). I then interviewed one and one with someone and asked a lot about my education, why Uline, my previous employments. A lot of why and why not I chose something, liked something, left somewhere, etc. Very polite and professional. Uline requires women to wear skirts/dresses with nylons Mon-Thurs. so be prepared. No offer because I am still in school.

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – 1 of 1 found this helpful – Fri, 20 Jun 2014

Interviewed null -1 in Pleasant Prairie, WI
I had 2 interviews. The first one with and HR rep. 4 weeks later I had a second interview with the person who would've been my supervisor. I never heard back after that interview. I think when a company can't even let you know the position has been filled is VERY poor practice.

Uline emailed me immediately that they had other more qualified candidates, then called me for an interview. They emailed multiple "assessments" and then had me take a couple more then I arrived for the interview. Everyone there was professional in their manner. I had an interview with HR and another with the manager. They spent a lot of time with me, and the HR area was FULL of people applying for various positions.

Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 8 Jul 2014

Interviewed null -1 in Waukegan, IL
Uline has "open interviews" where you come with your application and resume and receive a 10 minute conversation with someone. The situation is awkward at best, especially if you are over 35. There appears to be a certain phrase or set of words they are looking for you to recite, especially if you do not have exact product experience. This is the experience even if you are applying to an actual opening.

Interview Questions
One of the questions asked was " Do you think you would be able to handle selling actual products instead of abstract products?

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Fri, 11 Jul 2014

Interviewed Jun 2014 in Kenosha, WI(took a day)
I had one interview with the company which was a mass interview of almost 40 people people if not more in their warehouse in Kenosha. We all sat down and did numbers testing. We were then called into interviews one by one with various Uline employees a round 8 of them. these people seemed like those coming out of the program. At this point I knew I already did not have the job. There were two older men, older than the rest of the interviewers who stood around and flipped through test results and resumes. I could only assume that they were higher up HR personnel. I was about half way in the group for interviews so I watched other peoples interviews. The reason I knew I was not a candidate was these two men only interviewed 2 people by the time my name was called. They hand picked who they thought was qualified in front of the rest of us. I don't know if I was the only one who noticed. This was very rude in my opinion and could have been handled more tactfully.

I connected with the HR, the Managers. They are all nice and pleasant to talk with. One thing strikes me is , they are heavy on the applet. They are heavy on the client application instead of server application. So that is a surprised for me. I am glad I did not get an offer There are steps before you get an interview. (1), you have to fill up a written test and personality test (2) abstract reason The facility site is very nice and the benefits are pretty good

Interview Questions
I did not know I have to take abstract/logic test. It was not hard

Easy to initially apply online. But you have to complete four assessments prior to interview. A customer service/sales related quiz, a personality quiz, a writing assessment and a leadership assessment quiz. The interviews are done in mass, it's an individual interview, but I had to wait for almost an hour after my scheduled time because the two interviews before me ran long. Once you complete your interview with the HR rep, you have to take a typing and spelling quiz, which were easy. Uline will communicate to you whether you have been chosen for the second round of interviews or not.

Interview Questions
Nothing over the top, all about past experiences and management style. However I asked about the dress code and was shocked by the response

Was called for an interview and given a whole packet to complete prior to the interview. Entire packet took close to 2 hours to complete. When I arrived I was given two wonderlic test. Despite a couple years of management experience and a bachelors degree I was told I wasn't qualified for a position that only required a high school diploma and preferred some supervisory experience. I was offered a job in the warehouse which I promptly refused.

Very Interesting Interview. I've never had to take those timed tests prior to the interview. This showed that it is an extremely fast paced job and that they like to make that known. I wish they would just slow down a bit and realize quality over quantity.
