Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Sat, 11 Oct 2014

Interviewed null -1
Interviews were spaced out numerous weeks apart and the requirements for filling out forms was ludicrous and not even relevant in most circumstances. The staff asked me how I was doing and then considered the interview over. I had to schedule a day off for a literal waste of time.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Mon, 13 Oct 2014

Interviewed Oct 2014 in Waukegan, IL(took 14 days)
Received a response the following day after submitting my online application. Returned their call and had my interview the following week. Location was beautiful. All of their employees seemed helpful, happy, and pleasant. Started out by taking two tests followed by a 1 on 1 interview that asked pretty standard questions. Overall, it was a good experience.

Interview Questions
Honestly they didn't ask anything other than standard questions. Most of the questions seemed to focus on the applicant to see if you would be a good fit. Traditional things like "3 strengths" and "3 weaknesses" etc.

Interview – No – Tue, 4 Nov 2014

Interviewed null -1(took 21 days)
I went in for the first interview and had to take a few tests, which were not difficult. Then I had an interview with HR and it went well. She said she wanted to do a second interview, and would call me to set it up. I then came in for the second interview and another person was talking like I had already had the job. I then got an email a week later saying they had more qualified people.

Interviewed Nov 2014 in Naperville, IL(took 7 days)
I had to complete the online application, the DISC profile, Meyers Briggs, and complete a memo writing sample prior to a phone interview. I asked if Relocation was available when I set up the phone interview and the person told me she didn't know but wanted me to interview anyway. I had to complete everything prior to the initial interview and had about 24 hours to complete. After the initial interview I was sent a request to disclose diversity etc., and then I received a rejection letter. It was a terrible experience.

Very Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Mon, 10 Nov 2014

Interviewed null -1 in Pleasant Prairie, WI(took 7 days)
This review is more about the overall hiring process than the interview. Almost 10 years ago, in early 2005, Uline was advertising for a "Corporate Attorney." It seems like Uline has been advertising more or less continuously for a "Corporate Attorney" since then. When I agreed to the interview schedule they proposed (only one date and time), I thought they were seriously trying to fill the position Now I'm not so sure. At the interview, with a very junior HR person, I learned that there is only one attorney at Uline who does everything legal, and he has been with the company for "a very long time." In fact, he has been there 8 years, since November 2006 according to his Linkedin page. I suspect Uline has not hired a second attorney in all the time they have been advertising the position. The interview cost me a lost opportunity: I gave up a $90 survey to drive up to Wisconsin. I know that probably doesn't seem like a lot of money, but it would have covered my grocery bill for the week. Prior to the interview, I had to take a battery of tests online and onsite. One of them was related to sales (which might make sense if this were an interview by a law firm with client development needs) and two of them supposedly "measured" one's personality. Seriously, who still uses that New Agey Briggs- Myers claptrap other than Uline? I wouldn't so much mind wasting my time to find out I was an INFJ (or whatever zodiac sign doesn't believe in astrology) if I had had any reasonable shot at the job. Well, good luck to the gentleman in the Senior Corporate Counsel position. He's probably going to have to wait a very long time for reinforcements.

Interview Questions
Wonderlic comparing 50 sets of numbers in 4 minutes. My problems are visual, rather than intellectual. I don't remember interview questions, but they were pretty banal and pedestrian

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Thu, 13 Nov 2014

Interviewed Oct 2014 in Pleasant Prairie, WI(took 21 days)
I applied online and got a call a few days later stating that they would like an interview with me next week and I was so excited. Before the interview, they wanted me to do all these work including taking 2 personality test, a 50 question sales test, and a writing style test. Anyone with any kind of college experience can handle all of these but they are very time consuming but I finished them all and submitted them before my interview. When I went to my interview, only 2 out of the 4 people showed up and lucky the other guy was there for another position. We were taken into a room and given 2 more assessments before our interviews; a number matching assessment and a number pattern assessment. Each assessment is timed for 4 minutes each. I'm very good at math so I wasn't worried about the assessments after I finished them because I knew I did very well. The next part was the interview and they went over the position and asked if I could work those hours and so on. It was very basic. The guy said he would give my paperwork to managers and see if they would be interested in me and would contact me 10-15 business days with an answer. They emailed me on the 8th saying I was impressive but they're looking for other candidates..... If they are gonna brush people to the side like that, they shouldn't make people do all those assessments. I honestly feel like I wasted so much time and effort for a position that I know I'm well over qualified for.

Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 2 Dec 2014

Interviewed Nov 2014 in Milwaukee, WI
I have been happily employed with my current employer for over 5 years. I have found my stride as I have hit exceeds expectations on my last 4 annual performance reviews. I’m saying this to set the stage. Recently I was contacted by someone from Uline via LinkedIn regarding a position in HR. To be clear, they were pursuing me and I have never applied to a position with Uline before. I responded with an e-mail and within 24 hours I received a call. We had a 25 minute conversation over the phone regarding the opportunity and my background. They told me I could be a good fit and then scheduled for a face to face interview 5 days later. In the meantime, I had to complete 4 assessments which I had to actually transfer my answers to an excel spreadsheet, save and then send back to the office assistant. I also needed to print off and fill out a 6 page hard copy application to bring with me. This screamed “Old School” but I still went with the flow. Let me remind you again, they are pursuing me. I had a few questions before the interview and the recruiter was extremely timely with their responses. I would send an e-mail at 9pm and I would get a response sometime the next morning. I was pleasantly surprised with their service thus far. Upon my arrival for the interview I had to take two more assessments. One was a numbers recognition test and the other was a numbers sequence test, both were timed on speed and accuracy. Then I sat down with the recruiter for about 35-40 minutes. I thought it went very well. He even brought in another recruiter for me to ask questions to and I’m sure for them to get another pair of eyes on me. I thought the interview session went smooth and they both made me feel comfortable. Later that day I thanked both of them (via e-mail) for their time and sent a LinkedIn request, which they both accepted but did not return an e-mail. 2 days later I sent another lengthy follow up e-mail and I am still waiting for a simple response. It has been 2 weeks. If I’m not the right fit, fine, I get it but simply providing an e-mailed response saying “we’re still interviewing or thanks for coming in” takes seconds. I guess the entire process was a bit shocking considering they were the ones pursuing me and now they went MIA. I have been reading stories about how they have a cult like working environment and to steer clear. I wanted to come up with my own opinions and I must say for a company that takes extreme pride in their customer service, they are sure missing the boat with their candidate pool who could be customers or potential future business. I also realized that I could NEVER get my job done if I had to make people take 6 assessments and fill out a paper application. No wonder I am not getting a response, their recruitment process is broken. If they want the right people onboard, they need to get current with their technology and find ways to streamline the process to help them find the most qualified candidate in the shortest period of time. They don’t want thinkers, they want followers. Thanks for your silence Uline it speaks volumes.

Interviewed Oct 2014(took 60 days)
VERY intense process compared to other company. They require about 7 assessments before you arrive at the interview which do not have anything to do with the job, a drug test, and additional and very random assessments before the interview. While I had positive experiences with my interviews and people I met, I have heard very negative reviews of the culture of the company which discouraged me from taking a job. This company is decent, but you are probably better off focusing on fortune 500 companies if looking for internships because they not only look better on a resume but they take a fraction of the time to apply for and have less hoops to jump through.

Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Sun, 14 Dec 2014

Interviewed null -1(took 12 days)
Candidates are required to go through 4 assessments before you get a face to face to face. I apparently made the first cut, got a personal interview where upon arriving there were 2 more "number sequencing and logic" type test I needed to complete before the actual interview. The interviewer was fairly pleasant but seemed to almost as if they were trying to talk me out of the position rather than find where my (albeit overqualified) skill set could be an asset to their company. Be prepared to be micromanaged and under the microscope as that is the culture as it was explained to me.

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Fri, 12 Dec 2014

Interviewed Dec 2014(took 10 days)
I was contacted shortly after applying online. Asked to complete 4 different tests. I was then contacted for a phone interview. When the call came in I was told the person could not attend and someone else would take the call. I suspect it was the owner. I was asked plenty of questions regarding my background. A few days later I was asked for a second phone interview and again that same person could not make the call. The person I believe was a junior HR. I was micro interviewed to the very end of the call. I was asked if I was looking for employment or interviewing with any other Company. Two days later I was sent an email saying however impressive my qualifications were they were choosing to pursue another candidate and was not chosen for the in person interview which by the way you have to drive to them for the interview. The very same day a new posting for the position appeared online which tells me they lied and sent out a bogus email rejection to me. This Company sent so many red flags and I am very relieved by the outcome. The position involves 2 very large territories combined and they do not provide a company vehicle. Nowadays that is just plain nuts! I think I just dodged a bullet with Uline. Who knows what this Company is looking for and I also add it is Family owned and operated.

Interviewed Nov 2014(took 2 days)
The interview process was pretty normal. They had me take an assessment survey prior to sitting down with the hiring manager. They have you arrive 15 minutes early because of this. The test is timed and it geared around accuracy and speed. They were really nice and professional about the process abd explained everything very well about the process. They sent the follow up email about a week later explaining that they were persuing other applicants.

Interview Questions
The questions were standard. The question about what I did not like about the last job was the most difficult. I really had to think.

went for an interview at Uline, preformed two written test, one comprehensive other was math. then was called into a small room for the actual person to person interview. Was asked the basic questions what are your qualifications, where do you see yourself in 5 years. The whole question answer interview took 5 minutes. Was not expecting that, thought it would be longer and more in-depth. Didn't get the job, sort of glad about that.

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Fri, 16 Jan 2015

Interviewed Jan 2015(took 7 days)
Pretty easy interview, I don't agree with what other are saying about it being sterile or bland, the recruiter that spoke with me was extremely friendly and transparent when it came time for me to ask him questions. When we were done, he made me feel very confident and even stated "they were moving the ball down the field" and that someone would reach out to schedule another interview. Like others have stated though, I was later told they would in fact not be moving forward. Leads me to believe HR is not inline with other departments.

Interview Questions
They make me take some numerical based tests. They asked generic questions: Why are you leaving, Where do you see your self... etc
