Easy Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Thu, 17 Sep 2015

Interviewed null -1(took 7 days)
Walk in with a ton of others at a job fair, sit down, take two timed test, then they will "randomly" start calling people for first interviews. They will walk you around the building and afterwards sit down and ask questions (which they also do while walking around the warehouse), then i suppose it varies on the situation as to how that ends.

Very Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Fri, 25 Sep 2015

Interviewed Sep 2015 in Brampton, ON
This company appears to be very successful and it operates across the US and Canada. They surely must be doing something right, but I don't understand how anyone gets into this company. However, I read the reviews, they are true. Yes, it's the internet and people like to complain but these reviews are out here for a reason. I applied to the Warehouse Management Trainee position which I thought I would be perfect for. I had supervisory experience in distribution, warehousing, and just studied this as well. There are four pre-assessments, including personality and sales? Somehow that matters immensely. Within the actual interview there were two more assessments. Both very juvenile but I imagine it weeds people out pretty quickly. In four minutes you have to put a check next to numbers that match, and finish a sequence of numbers. Then, you go into a 1 on 1 interview with a Warehouse Manager who gets to know you a little and asks some general questions. This guy liked everything I said, said we took similar paths and was pretty nice. Not sure what happened but when I asked for feedback I didn't get any. Just said they wanted more education and experience...? Go figure. Anyway, I'm not writing this to be resentful but if anyone ever considers applying for this just flat out save your time.

Phone interview. They give you a call at your convenient time. Make sure you're in a quiet place. Mostly behavioral questions. The recruiter does not start of greeting you too well but don't let that turn you down. At the end its a phone interview so good luck!

Easy Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Fri, 2 Oct 2015

Interviewed Sep 2015
I applied and they called me back pretty quickly to set up a phone interview a couple days later. HR also told me that I would receive an email with links to questionnaires--got it the night before the phone interview. The actual interview was pretty simple, typical questions. I figured from the other interview experiences that I wouldn't have much of a chance, and sure enough, I received a generic email saying they enjoyed speaking with me, but decided to pursue other candidates.

Got a phone call to schedule an in person interview 2 after applying. 4 assesment tests prior to the interview which basically test your personality. One sales experience test, which I dont understand why would they test someone on sales skills who is not even applying for sales job. Arrived 20 minutes early, gave 2 more number tests.

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 6 Oct 2015

Interviewed Apr 2015(took 8 days)
Right after you apply they call right back. They send you an email with a writing test, a psychology test and some other test. Once you email that back you go for a face to face interview. When you get to the interview you go in to a room with other candidates and take a number test. After that you get to talk to a person where they ask you about five questions and then you are done. A few days later you get an email telling you no.

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Wed, 7 Oct 2015

Interviewed Jul 2015(took 5 days)
Applied online. Received phone call to set up a phone interview - woman offered no info on company and was only interested in setting up a phone interview that would take place with another individual and getting my email address for the four assessment tests that were required - 2 personality, 1 writing sample and 1 sales related. Recruiter called me a couple days later for the phone interview - jumped right into my background with little explanation about their company or position. At the end she stated she wasn't sure what role I would be considered for as they focus on screening people 'in' versus 'out' of their company so I could be considered for something other than what I applied for - a bit of a bait and switch?!?! Then she brought up their dress code, as they want to make sure candidates understand their requirements as they get a lot of feedback about it. She told me that she personally doesn't find it to be strict, but some people do. She went on to explain - as an example, women are required to wear pantyhose and closed toe shoes during certain times of the year and if women prefer to wear pants rather than a dress or skirt then they have to wear a matching blazer. Fridays are casual - they allow you to wear dress pants without a matching blazer. What century are we in right now?!?! Recruiter said she would reach out within the week to schedule me for an in-person interview at their headquarters in Wisconsin. I didn't hear back nor did I follow-up, as after talking through things I was no longer interested.

Interview Questions
Basic walk through of job history, nothing too complex to mention. Recruiter tried to divert away from my questions about the specific job I had applied to, emphasizing the need for flexibility in considering other positions at their company and being ok with the dress code. I find it compelling that they are screening executive level candidates in this manner.

Outrageous interview process...more than two years later they are still looking for an HR Rep. The comment was we would rather have the perfect candidate even if it means losing some really good candidates. They should really review their process . They use free online psychometric testing and have you send them print screens of the results. ...at least pay for what you are using and invest in what you believe in.

Difficult Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Wed, 14 Oct 2015

Interviewed Sep 2015 in Waukegan, IL(took 5 days)
A lady in her 30's performed the interview who knew virtually nothing about computer science or the telephone system. She was more interested in seeing what my attitude was and how I was dressed. She seemed pleasant. More interested in my focus about what I could do for the company in the future. Two 4 minute timed Wonderlich tests were given in person plus 4 tests online in addition. Three were psychological and one was English composition summary

Interview Questions
She was very interested in what my salary expectations were.

Went in to the interview room with at least 100 other candidate's. You start off taking 2 timed test. The first is one is about matching numbers. The second one is a pattern test. I didn't finished both. I heard a lot of other people complaining about the test. Some where saying they were to old for that sh*t lol after the tests they start calling off names to get interviewed. I got called pretty quickly. I Got InterviewEd By A Worker He Asked Me A Serious Of QuestionS Mostly About My Pass WorK Experience. I asked the guy some questions and the interviewed ended. He said they will send me an email. Interviewed ended.

Very Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Fri, 16 Oct 2015

Interviewed Oct 2015 in Chicago, IL(took 5 days)
Phone interview. Super-easy. Honestly wouldn't even consider it an interview. Just a lot of basic skill-based questions. No situational or behavioral-based questions. The interview seemed more like a conversation than anything else. I was told I would receive a decision by the end of the week ( interview was on Monday). I'm not sure what else to say, the total duration was less than 15 minutes. In the end, I was left really unsure as to what to expect regarding a decision...I felt the interview was very shallow and was a poor attempt to gauge my qualifications

It started with a phone interview followed by 4 personality and sales assessments. Next was a site interview and finally references with a background check. Also, a paper application needed to be filled out. When I showed up for the site interview they also made me take to numbers assessments. They were timed but they were not difficult.

It was 3 interview and very difficult with many questions and people to speak to. They called all of my references and there was many different tests I had to take. It was a long process and stressful to go through. There were timed tests that you had to look at numbers and see if they were the same as numbers right next to them to see if we made any mistakes.

They have a standard testing process no matter whatever position you apply. They have a fantastic office. Looks like the HR is just interviewing and doing non-stop. It hurts when I see so many candidates dressed up and come for a serious interview thinking they can get one but it doesn't looks like they are serious to hire.

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Thu, 29 Oct 2015

Interviewed Oct 2015 in Gurnee, IL(took 28 days)
After 3 interviews, spanning 4 weeks long, and 6 different exams my application was denied. All I can say is, what a waste of my time. Uline tries to segment each individual candidate using a concentrated refining process of multiple interviews and assessments. I understand the need for internal controls but this process is lengthy and ambiguous---making it costly and ineffective. For the most part all the interviews were behavioral- Don't expect much of a technical evaluation, because none of the hiring management have any idea of how to conduct an actual interview. Once you get passed the recruiter and move on to interviewing with managers who describe a heavily monitored work environment, (which they can't stand) due to the private ownership (Uline family) consisting of conservative republicans who are trying to ethnically cleanse their offices by, hiring the same Anglo Saxon individuals--- lacking any noticeable diversity. My last interview consisted of a warning about what ownership would be looking to micro manage, including but not limited to: 1. Number of Items you can have on your desk 2. No eating at your desk 3. Clocking in with Id 4. Monitors who walk around the office, whose sole job is to find employees breaking rules like the ones listed above Essentially, the Uline family is trying to replicate the efficiency of German production, but constantly interfering with shape and look of the work place from an aesthetic point of view. Instead, they could be upgrading their systems and adding great employees to their technical departments, which are understaffed. Thank you, Uline for showing your true colors and exposing yourselves as, an in-equal opportunity employer. Don't believe me? Go and check out their employees on Likedin they all look the same.

I was interviewed by most of the senior staff also being called back. I was asked all sorts of questions and had to take tests to full assess my abilities. Speed, Passion, and Operational Excellence was discussed as being very important to the position along with the obvious of showing up and working hard. There was a brief show and tell about how the UPS department works and daily job functions were discussed.

Interviewed null -1 in Pleasant Prairie, WI(took 49 days)
Applied and was brought in for an interview. The first interview was just basic HR screening. Did have to take the 4 tests prior to showing up and 2 other tests once I showed up for my interview. The interview itself was not difficult but it was clear that Uline thinks very highly of themselves. One negative was a lack of communication between the HR representatives and other candidates about where they were in the hiring process.
