Very Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 2 Jun 2015

Interviewed Apr 2014 in Kenosha, WI(took 5 days)
Applied online, with in two days had a phone call asking to set up an interview. Sent me an email with a test I had to take. Set up interview, when I went in for interview. Had to take two more tests. When I asked why they said everyone took these tests. Felt like a child when they gave the instructions for the test. During interview, person asking questions did not even look at me. Just looked down at the paper like I was not even there. I noticed all the women had on skirts, asked about it and they said it was required (WHAT) and that they where required to pantyhose for the winter and fall months. Or the women where required to wear a matching suit pants and jacket and they must be from the same company.

Interview Questions
They asked the normal questions. The person was just reading off the paper. She could have been someone from maintance for all I knew.

Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Wed, 3 Jun 2015

Interviewed May 2015(took 5 days)
Terrible. First off you're going to sit in a room with at least 50 other people and you're going to do 2 "simple" math tests. They tell you that the tests will not effect your one on one interview, but trust me... it most certainly does. After the tests you have to wait for a member of management or HR to call your name for your interview. This is where it starts to get tricky. If yoy don't greet yourself to the manager with a smile on your face, they'll pointy it out to you. If you don't push the chords in properly after the interview, they'll point it out. They're so etiquette when it comes to stuff like that. I don't think the process is fair, if the manager doesn't like the way you interviewed, they won't pass you onto your next onterview. The rEason I personally don't think it's fair is because they can't or won't communicate with other managers to discuss how your interview went.

Very Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Wed, 3 Jun 2015

Interviewed May 2015 in Pleasant Prairie, WI(took 7 days)
Interviewer appeared disinterested in you as well as what he was doing. Run of the mill. Didn't ask any questions. Just had me do all the talking. My advise to anyone else out there is...don't waste your time on this and if you go for the interview it just for the experience of interviewing. It is pretty obvious when they have three rooms marked as "interview rooms" there is something going on at this place. Also, they won't hire you unless you have a degree. It doesn't matter what the degree is in but you must have a degree. Also, this place had all young people. There was no one observed over the age of 40.

Interview Questions
I asked the HR person why Uline always has so many jobs posted and if this was due to expansion or high employee turnover. He never answered my question and advised they hired over 1,000 people last year and were expected to hire over 1,000 this year. He didn't advise if these were new positions or if they were replacements for those that had left. I suspect there for turnover positions. Place is weird. Men wear ties; girls wear skirts and no stockings. No pants were seen on any of the women.

First 3 tests on line, then phone interview. In person interview starts with 2 more tests then finally talk to HR person. Very hard to take HR seriously when she says business professional attire at all times when she was wearing leggings and baggy shirt.

Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Wed, 20 May 2015

Interviewed May 2015 in Milwaukee, WI(took 7 days)
My experience echoed other candidates: 4 assessments to do at home followed by 2 in person timed math tests upon arrival. I can understand a company wanting to do one online personality test (let's say to see if you'd be a good fit for a customer service position) but these tests are out-dated and don't set the tone for a very welcoming atmosphere. I will add that during the interview I was told they post "attractive" and "general" job descriptions online in attempts to gain talent to apply-- even if they don't actually have those jobs available. In other words, they post click bait, and then waste your time! They compile all your info and then send it to corporate HR for evaluation. The process doesn't seem efficient for candidates or recruiters. In addition, the company culture is archaic and suppressive and the business model still centers around a 600+ page catalog. Their e-comm site shows they have not adopted the digital age (it's circa early 2000's) and their reliance on their phonebook size catalog is not sustainable. Plus, they will struggle once their aged staff retires and they have neither the mentality nor technology to hire or retain a millennial or younger.

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – Yes, but I declined – Fri, 12 Jun 2015

Interviewed May 2015 in Pleasant Prairie, WI(took 3 days)
The interview process was standard, applied online, contacted next day for interview. One thing to note this is an odd process...they do not even interview you for the position you apply for. They mass interview people with very generic interview questions. When asked about what salary I would expect, I had to ask what jobs are even open. The interviewer did not know and stated that he does this weekly mass interview. I feel that they trick people for lack of a better term into interviewing and I am not sure why. They give two timed math assessments called HAY, numerical assessments that are EASY. The first one was matching numbers that are the same, it is insulting to professional people. The second is a sequencing assessment in which you have to decide what number comes next. It was bizarre to say the least. After you take the math assessments, you are called one by one to sit in a chair with an interviewer, there are like 20 sets of chairs lined up by eachother and they just mass interview people. The whole process took about an hour

Interviewed Jun 2015 in Brampton, ON(took 7 days)
Matching numbers quiz and patterns quiz. With all due respect, it is just a opinion it just didn't appeal to me that well. The whole mindset of the company seems a bit robotic, Individuals are assigned tasks are meant to be exectuced as effciently as possible. They care about every spec of detail. Cleanliness is a must, if possible go dressed up with tucked dress shirts and dress pants and belt/tie. I did not do this. I just went for interview I can tell right away their cloth policy is very strict. I believe rules are a positive but at the same time i believe that humans should be creative and think outside the box, this type of thinking is effcient for the business but it may be detrimental for the employees well being and overall atmosphere. But if you are a very detail orientated person, making sure everything is in order, organized, clean, and timely. This interview or jobs at uline may be of interest. But I personally felt a vibe that creativity isn't a priority. and this is a first time i wrote the review. So it all depends on the person. Personally felt the company was a bit too robotic. regardless best of luck and always follow your heart people.

It was a phone interview with two in person interviews after. You had to pass basic arithmetic tests and prove that you would be able to handle the job. It was difficult with some of the surprise questions, make sure to do your homework about what the company does. Make sure that you put out the fact that you can handle a fast paced warehouse environment while still being approachable.

Interviewed Jun 2015 in Brampton, ON
Sent my Resume on Friday Monday they left a message on my voice mail Tuesday I called and they wanted me to come in the next day at 830 I was busy that day so they scheduled me the following Wednesday at 830 Next week Wednesday I arrived, seven other applicants were waiting in a small reception room Eventually they call us in and we gather in the lunch room and take the two test After the test they say they are going to mark the test and then call us for personal interviews They call us one by one, I am third last about a 20 minute interview, the interviewing was okay, she made me feel comfortable after the interview she said she would contact me over the 5-10 they had to consult with the Management team (although my interview went well) My gut told me, I did not get it and surely enough on Friday I received an email "While your skills were impressive ....another candidate ..bla bla bal " not sure why but it always feels Bad when you get rejected for a job .. A few things Yes if you are going for an office/ contact centre interview you dress professionally, In my opinion customer services, so no suit, but yes a (clip on) Tie.. I am not sure if they would expect this if you are applying (non supervisor ) position. I am not able to speak if this office was militant like people describe, I just know it was a lot closer to where I live, Travelling beats you down, I was even going to take a pay cut Weird ---4 HR people and 1 secretary (admin) and two guys painting, and I only saw one other person actually doing work, some guy in a Tie, it was around 9 Am on a Wednesday... I imaged the place more busy I am not sure what they are looking for, but the jobs are still posted, I wonder how much they spend on HR screening I have Sent my resume to about 10 places and they are the only ones who called so far..so I thank them , I got back out for an interview, I was real nervous, even though I did not get it and felt bad when rejected, it got me practice..and the interview went better than I thought I am not 100% I would have taken the job ..some has described Uline as Rigid, but my impression was professional and outdated a bit .....(dress code..c'mon) but its up to them its their company..

Interview Questions

Applied online. Received an email with some personality tests and a writing test. Was scheduled for a phone interview. It took a while to scheudle a phone interview. I had to call the HR department, which prompted scheduling of the phone interview. The two HR individuals I spoke to were both very nice and professional. I asked when they would be filling the position and there was no definate time frame. She indicated that most of the positions are new as a result of their 25% annual growth.

Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Fri, 26 Jun 2015

Interviewed Jun 2015 in Seattle, WA(took 9 days)
Series of two interviews with a very extensive screening between the first and second interview. The screening included a Myers-Briggs test, a writing summation, a second sales personality profile exam, and a choose a scenario test. A common theme was that they told me how well the comp was for employees but would not share any kind of a range. ***I will say the recruiter told me I WOULD MAKE LESS based on my geography, even though I would have to work longer hours with more travel and accounts spread far apart. She was quite curt about sharing that info and it really felt like a power play which is odd for a screening.

Interviewed Jun 2015 in Pleasant Prairie, WI(took 4 days)
Interview process was a bit drawn out. Had to complete 4 assessments online and send in before the actual face to face interview. Then when on-site, had to complete two timed numbers tests, then finally meet with interviewer. Face to face was pretty short time frame, interviewer didn't seem all that interested in being there. Overall was not very impressed with the process. When the talent scout originally called to set up the interview, I asked her which area this current position was in. She gave me a pretty vague, round about answer which made me believe they were just interviewing to interview, not really looking to fill an open position.

Difficult Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Mon, 6 Jul 2015

Interviewed Jul 2015(took 3 days)
Filled out an application on line and received a phone call a few hours later. Agreed to an interview. Day of interview: got to the company 30 min early to fill out 2 more assessments (That's a total of 6 assessments). One assessment was number sequence and the other was same or different number assessment each 4 min long. Not enough time for the first one in my opinion. Waited 5 min for the interview. Interview was about 10-15 min long. I was told by the recruiter that they go over the application, assessments and interview with management. If they get the okay by management they will contact me for a second interview. I haven't heard anything, but I know a few who were contacted immediately or the next day for the second interview. This in my opinion, was the most stressful interview I have been to.

Applied online and they contacted me the next day for an interview. When I got there I was given two wonderlic tests and then a one on one interview. Questions were pretty standard and it only took about 15-20 minutes. I got the impression that the only reason they call nearly everyone to come in for an interview is to get them to take the wonderlic tests which seem to be extremely important in the process.
